Upper Chesapeake started International Week with a rehearsal at our Aberdeen rehearsal hall tonight! Then we're down the road to Baltimore to join thousands or our Sweet Adeline sisters for our annual convention! Special good luck wishes go out to Lustre, GQ, and Harmony Classic mic testers, Harbor City Music Company! “Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.”
Upper Chesapeake Chorus is an extraordinary group of women who gather each week to celebrate the unique American art form known as Barbershop harmony. We are 2011 and 2013 Chorus Champions for Atlantic Bay-Mountain Region 19 of Sweet Adelines International and a premier performance group in Central Maryland.
"You're young, you're scrappy. You want to be the best. You started singing in school, like everyone: choir, maybe a couple musicals. Karaoke with some friends, talent shows. Then some collegiate a cappella.
But you don't want to just be fine. That's not enough. You want to be great. You want technique, you want moves. You need to learn karate... except contemporary a cappella doesn't have a traditional refined martial art... does it?
It does. It's called Barbershop."
