Upper Chesapeake Chorus is excited to share our new look, or as we like to call it, our Visual Voice. Our vibrant rebrand includes a colorful and joyful logo design, an informative and easy-to-navigate website, and more engagement with images and videos on our social media. Why the new UCC? Sweet Adelines International (SAI) is undergoing a global transformation and Upper Chesapeake Chorus shares their new values and vision. SAI is working hard to modernize to “create a strong sustainable future” for the organization. They are implementing revised song guidelines, updated costumes, and best practices for diversity and inclusivity. UCC embraces this philosophy and believes creating a new visual voice will not only illustrate this, but also engage new members while fostering diversity, inclusivity, and a sustainable future. The redesign process was extensive. The chorus hired a professional design and communications firm that not only created a new visual look but helped us learn how to expand our use of social media to share music and photos, engage with the community, book performances, and, importantly, reach new potential members. Funding was possible in part via a grant from Harford County Cultural Arts Board. With our new rebrand, we hope to reach a wide diversity of women who are interested in learning about A cappella singing and we also look to engage more with our community. UCC performs regularly in and around Harford County, Maryland. Most recently, in December 2022, we were happy to join the holiday “Rejoice!” concert sponsored by the Maryland Center of the Arts. The full chorus and affiliated quartets are available to hire for public and private events. To send an inquiry, visit www.uccsai.com/dbpage.php?pg= Do you love to sing? Join us! The Upper Chesapeake Chorus, led by Director Tyler Horton, rehearses weekly on Monday evenings at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. Our rehearsals are open to guests who would like to experience the joy of ensemble singing in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Our members span all age groups and walks of life.
